The W.T.F that turned into an E.A.S.E.

Almost 9 years ago, I walked into what I thought was going to be another great day at the office, only to walk out a couple hours later with a big “WHAT THE F* JUST HAPPENED?” look on my face.
I had big visions for myself to grow within this firm.  I was going to bring in large-scale hotel and restaurant projects. I was going to make lighting design sexy and highly desirable in the city.
Have you ever had a plan for your future that you felt so sure about, then to have it pulled right out under you?
It suuuuuucks.
At the time, my perfectionist mind would have NEVER thought that I could EVER be laid off from work.  I always did everything I could, as perfectly as I could.
NO WAY could there ever be a reason for me to lose my job.
But I did.

“WTF?!” aka SHOCK
“What did I do wrong?”  . . . SHAME myself
“And with NO NOTICE?!”  . . . ANGER - blame my colleagues and my boss for being stupid.
“I don’t care.  I don’t need this.”  . . . NUMB - binge eat.

“I can sit here and feel shitty about myself, or I can do something about it.”

“What can I do next about it?” . . . CURIOUS - ask empowering questions.

“There has got to be a way.” . . . DETERMINATION - Assess the resources I have.

“I can start my own lighting design firm.” . . . INSPIRED - Start thinking like a business owner.

“I have nothing to f*-ing lose.” . . . CERTAINTY - I take action as the owner of a new lighting design firm.

The next day I had my new company registered and emails sent to all my connections about my new endeavour.
2 years later, I received my first hotel project.
And now, even after 3 years of being a life coach, I still get lighting design inquiries.

The best part was I had fear right by my side the entire time.

I loved my vision MORE THAN the fear of failing.
I loved my belief in myself more than my fear response of “you’re not good enough.”
Fear didn’t have a chance to make me hide because . . .
I loved myself more than what others might say about me.

My failures worked for me because I made a decision to make it work for me, no matter what.

I had no idea what my outcome was going to be or exactly how I was going to do it.
I did it.
I didn’t know it at the time, but there was one process that I repeated that kept me moving forward.
Today, I have simplified this process.
My clients apply it, showing up for what they want as powerful decision makers.

You can too.

All it takes is choosing to make it work for you, no matter what.
One decision.
One moment.

I live freely as me and do what I love everyday because I applied this process.  I am confident it’s inevitable for you also.  I can show you how.  Book your free consultation here.

Be truly you,
