When was the last time you took a break for yourself?
I mean a REAL break.
The kind of break where there is absolutely nothing on your to-do list.
Where you create a sacred space and time for you to LOVE ON YOU HARD.
There’s no - “I have to’s . . . I need to’s . . . I should’s.”
Just you and a whole lot of time to rest your mind and body.
I know you’ve been craving it.
I know your brain has been struggling with it.
I know it’s uncomfortable to think about taking a break when the brain goes straight to thinking out about all the inconveniences you would cause in order to create that space.
I've got you. As I was there just last week.
My body had been nudging me to take a sabbatical week, but my brain kept resisting.
“No, I have too many things to do.”
“I can’t just take a week off when I have all these meetings booked. What are they going to think?”
“I’ll have more time in September.”
So what did I do next?
I used up more energy to talk about taking a break, without taking action on it. Hahahaha.
To my partner. To my friends. In my head.
“I need a break.”
“I need a break.”
“I need a break.”
Within an 8 hour span:
- I had a friend share her story of “needing a break” then breaking her leg in order to get her break,
- A client told me in a session, “I need a break,” where I then proceeded to help her block out a week for her own self-care without mind drama, and
- I heard about a friend who was taking a week off for his birthday.
When you are in partnership with your mind, body and spirit, there is always a way to receive the balance you want.
If you can’t hear the call internally the first few times, there’s plenty of reminders reflected back to you in your world.
And because you decided that you’re doing this for you and that you matter, you know you can do it, even when you have guilt show up to say “you shouldn’t.”
That’s because you know that being your true self is your superpower.
You get more done, in less time. You see the results you want.
If you’re exhausted, easily frustrated and too tired to be present, you are not truly you, you’re not thinking clearly and you’re not wholeheartedly in service.
Even superheroes get to have sabbaticals.
Decide to make it work for you and for all, and it will be done.
“I am taking a week off.”
Just YOU showing up to serve.
Be truly you,
