A year ago, my brain gave me a poke, “Hey remember that life school you keep talking about, I don’t see anything yet. You keep saying you’re going to do it, but you still haven’t done it.”
At the time, I was already focused on expanding my coaching business, but the poke got me thinking about this other thing that I wasn’t doing. Like all creative brains, I proceeded to get myself super excited and focused more of my energies to building the school.
“Where your energy flows, abundance grows.”
The Universe always provides more of where you feed your energy. All sorts of opportunities came up right after. I was meeting all the right people, families were offering their time to share their visions and I had course outlines completed.
I built momentum …... and then I stopped.
The Fear brain showed up again and said “Hey remember that $200K coaching business you’re supposed to build, I don’t see anything yet. You’ll never get there if you’re not all in.”
This was when the mental tug-of-war started between the two goals. My attention was divided - Both worthy goals that I wanted to honour and complete. Both sources for me to spiral in confusion.
I made it mean that I had to quit one in order to achieve the other which would essentially make me a failure. My brain didn’t like that at all, so it decided to cross it’s arms and quit both goals by staying in confusion.
When you master your Fear...
You stop beating yourself up for not accomplishing a big goal that you wanted to achieve years ago.
You trust that everything is already in place for the goal to happen, without dropping everything else in your life.
You trust yourself to succeed no matter what.
No more thoughts of doubt like:
- “Look at everything you have to do, what makes you think you can fit this in too?”
- “There you go again, setting yourself up for failure … again. What makes you think this time will be different?”
- “It’s going to be way too hard to start from scratch. What if there’s too much work and you waste time with this?”
When you give in to Fear, you can easily turn what seemed like a worthy and life-altering idea into a self-deprecating and life-consuming torment.
I recognized the spiral and I decided to stop it.
The beauty of having the skill to master your Fears is that the spiralling is short-lived.
- Recognize the spiral.
- Make a decision to stop because it doesn't serve anyone.
- Move on.
I decided that both goals are already happening. I decided that I can focus my energies in expanding my coaching business and still focus on ONE THING that I know will help me build the school. I knew that by focusing on that ONE THING, it would lead me to success.
You can turn your self-deprecating and life-consuming torments into self-empowering success and life-long freedom.
It wasn’t until I made a decision that served me, did I feel at complete peace with myself. I stopped beating myself up and it freed me up to recognize how I was already doing the ONE THING that was creating the reality I wanted to see.
That ONE THING is my love in supporting Growing Chefs. Their vision to grow healthy communities through teaching kids food literacy and how they can empower their families and peers through growing and cooking their own healthy foods, completely aligns with my vision for the life school! With 4 seasons of volunteering as a Growing Chef in the classroom and 2% of my business profits towards their programs, I AM accomplishing my big goal! As my business grows, my support for Growing Chefs programs grows.

I can proudly say that I am building my school right now and I don’t have to quit anything in order to achieve it.
When you believe in your outcome so much that you are certain it is already happening in some shape or form, the doing and the actions come with ease. In my case, sometimes it’s so easy that you don’t even realize you’re already doing it.
By slowing down to observe your thoughts, you can give yourself the opportunity to acknowledge and be proud of what you are already accomplishing.
There’s no trying or struggling. Everything just falls into place.
This is a freedom that I would like to offer to you. It’s available to you right now.
