WHY DO WE PEOPLE PLEASE?

We want to be liked.

We want to be accepted.

We want to belong.

Here’s why I people please.

  • I want approval that I’m important.
  • I want approval that I’m doing the right thing.
  • I want approval that I’m good enough.

  • I don’t want to be left out.
  • I don’t want to be insignificant.
  • I don’t want to be seen as a failure.

These are all lies.

We don’t need anyone to recognize or acknowledge us.

That’s not their job.

It’s an inside job.

We are not being true to ourselves and the people we are “pleasing”.

We are manipulating ourselves to be someone we’re not in order to get approval, to be accepted and feel important.

We expect something in return when we please - “a thank you would be nice.”

People pleasing is a time and energy waster.

WHY?

We waste our time spinning in thoughts of worry, wondering what other think about us.

It’s exhausting!

We are take room up in our brain and we block ourselves from what we’re meant to do with our time and energy, which is to EXPERIENCE, CREATE and SERVE.

People pleasing never feels good.

It feels inauthentic.

It feels like a sacrifice.

It feels good to experience.

It feels good to create.

It feels good to serve.

Drop the “people pleaser” identity.

It’s not who we are.

it never serves us or them.

Challenge yourself to step into your truth.

Say NO when you mean no and say YES when you genuinely want to say yes.

Choose to SERVE vs. PLEASE.
