FUN FACT: Did you know that the your heart beats approximately 100,000 times per day at 5.5L/minute, which equates to ~ 3 million litres of blood per year? WOW!
Your body is incredibly strong and resilient working all the time to maintain optimal health. Many of its functions are performed involuntarily without you having to tell it what to do.
I like to refer to my body as my dream assistant. The one who knows just what to do, when it needs to be done and where it needs to take place.
Your body can organize, protect, repair and rebuild your organ systems and handle difficult tasks, most of the time without us knowing at all.
As long as you are not piling up too much work for it to handle, it does what it needs to do to keep you in balance, no questions asked! Isn’t that amazing?!
I went from being diagnosed at the age of 35 with asthma and one year later asthma-free!
I shared with you in last week’s post how I put myself in a position where I felt stuck, couldn’t breathe and felt I couldn’t move on with my life.
My body responded first with shortness of breath. I ignored it. Then it got to the point where it was a huge discomfort and my chest ached.
My body was trying to tell me something was up.
When you load on too much for your body to handle and your body becomes internally imbalanced, it might find a way to tell you with sensations of pain or signs and symptoms.
Stress factors include:
- Mental/emotional/physical stress
- Poor nutrition and eating habits
- Eating processed foods
- Caffeine and energy drinks
- Alcohol intake
- Excessive workload
- Smoking
- Prescription and OTC medicines
- Environmental toxins
- Poor soil used to grow your food
- Allergies and food intolerances
When you are bogged down with gas and bloating, aches and pains, weight gain, poor cognitive function or (in my case,) inability to breathe properly, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CHOICE TO EXCHANGE YOUR BODY FOR A NEW ONE!
You do, however, have the choice to ignore the signs, cover it up or resist it. These choices only create more suffering for yourself running the risk of compromising your health and become vulnerable to ‘dis-eases’ in your body.
You also have a choice to listen to your body, become aware of what it’s trying to tell you and support it to bring it back to balance. Living a conscious healthy lifestyle is a choice.
What you choose does matter. YOU MATTER.
ARE YOU OPEN TO LISTENING TO YOUR BODY?
