Before I learned and applied self-care, I was a DEVOTED POWER GIVER.
My hopes was to make everyone around me happy because if they were happy, I was happy!
Reality was, I wasn’t happy. I felt emotionally and mentally drained at the end of the day. What I didn’t realize back then was that I was giving my power away. I was a giver at work, I was a giver with my family, I was a giver in all my relationships.
I was a giver to everyone but me. I was running low on fumes. I WAS BURNT OUT.
I became short-tempered, my defences were low and I was unable to tolerate. My idea of self-care was to bundle up in front of the TV, bag of chips in hand and a bottle of wine to 'NUMB' and forget that I existed.
The PAST ME didn't know how to manage my thoughts and emotions.
If you resonate with any of this, I AM HERE FOR YOU. My mission is to take you through the process that helped me get through feeling exhausted and burnt out. Learn the tools to get out of your mind and into your body.
The NOW ME is aware that there is always a choice. I have the power to choose my thoughts which determines how I feel about a situation therefore freeing myself from the overwhelm and stress.
We can show up, be present and live freely so that we can fully serve others without giving our power away.
How? Start with YOU. BE KIND TO YOU.
So many of us are busy taking care of others, trying to make everyone else happy and taking care of their needs before our own.
We’ve all heard it before. Put your own oxygen mask on, before helping the person next to you.
It’s a good analogy for a reason!
In order for us to show up for others fully with ENERGY and LOVE, we must first take care of ourselves!
Taking care of you should be at the top of your list since this allows you to be able to show up and care for others better.
It is not selfish to want to feel amazing. IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO FEEL AMAZING!!
Your family is not going to disown you wanting to take care of yourself. If anything, they might encourage it because THEY LOVE YOU!
Just like you want what’s best for them, THEY WANT WHAT’S BEST FOR YOU TOO!
What is one thing you can do for yourself today?
WHEN WE ARE AT OUR BEST, WE CAN GIVE OUR BEST.
